World Pheran Day: Budgam resident don life-size cut-out of PM Modi with Pheran | KNO

Srinagar, Dec 21 (KNO): On the eve of ‘World Pheran Day’, a Budgam resident Saturday donned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life-size cut-out with the traditional Kashmiri Pheran here in Lal Chowk. As per the details collected by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Budgam resident was among the first to show his admiration for the gesture. The Budgam resident wore a Pheran to the cut-out of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Clock Tower, offering a symbolic tribute to the cultural heritage of Kashmir. “The Pheran represents warmth and tradition, especially when it comes to the harshest 40 days of Chilay-Kalan. Today, we feel like our culture is being acknowledged at the national level,” a local resident at Lal Chowk said. Locals and domestic tourists gathered around Lal Chowk Srinagar to capture photos with the cut-out of PM Modi wearing traditional Pheran. Another Sajad Ahmad said, “The Pheran is more than just a coat. It is a part of who we are. We all must wear the Pheran and give it a best place which it deserve.”— (KNO)
